The Manteo High School men’s soccer team advanced into the Regional Championship round of the state tournament with an overtime victory on Nov. 11. No 4 seed Manteo defeated No. 1 Clinton by a 2-1 score in overtime. Clinton scored in first half to take 1-0 lead, but Manteo answered with about 7 minutes remaining in regulation on a goal by Aiden Braswell. The game went into overtime and Manteo’s Oscar Rivera scored to make it 2-1, which proved to be the winning margin.

Now sporting a 14-3-1 record on the season, the Redskins will travel to Greene Central (24-1) on Tuesday, Nov. 16 for the 2A Regional Championship round. For those wanting to see the game live without having to travel, Manteo’s East Regional Championship soccer game against Greene Central will be live streamed at Greene Central High School – Snow Hill, NC (nfhsnetwork.com). For those who want to be on hand, there’s an $8 admission charge. Match time is at 6 p.m.
