It was a good Black Friday as local first responders and Good Samaritans set up shop at the Walmart in Kitty Hawk to collect for the Toys for Tots drive on Nov. 26.

The results, as reported by this post on the Toys for Tots of Dare and Currituck Counties Facebook page, were very good.

“Another successful Black Friday Toy Drive! This community is nothing short of aaahhhhmazing! We collected just under 700 toys and also had 7 bikes donated! Next step is getting it sorted and put out for our upcoming distribution days. We cannot thank everyone enough! From donations of toys and money, to volunteering time and braving the cold, this could not happen without the support of everyone out there!

So we are shouting a big ol’ THANK YOU! And be sure to stay tuned to our Facebook page for details on our upcoming distribution days and how you can still help!”
