1/23/2022 Update from Dare County Sheriff’s Office: Temperatures are still below freezing this morning which is causing hazardous road conditions in places. The Virginia Dare bridge still has ice on the bridge, especially the west bound span. Please use caution. Colington Rd bridges still have ice on them. Please use caution when driving.
1/22/2022 10:45pm: Temperatures have dropped, which has caused some of the roadways to become ice covered. The Wright Memorial bridge is clear, but the turn lane between the bridge and OBX Chevy is ice covered. Colington Rd bridges are iced over and parts of Colington Rd as well. The Washington Baum bridge is clear. The Virginia Dare bridge has black ice on both ends. Hwy 64/264 through Manns Harbor has patches of ice and the Old Manns Harbor bridge is clear. The Basnight bridge is clear, but there is still sand and standing water on Pea Island with slight ocean over wash near the Buxton Motel. Please use caution when driving.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING TO REVIEW PLANS FOR AN OUTER BANKS EVENT CENTER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Visitors Bureau will hold a public meeting to review the plans for an Outer Banks Event Center. The meeting will take place on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Keeper’s Galley building at Haven on the Banks, 115 Dove Street, Nags Head North Carolina 27959.
Still in the conceptual phase, the Event Center is intended to provide suitable and flexible space for year-round events, concerts, sports, meetings, smaller tradeshows, galas and any number of other uses. Learn more about the benefits for visitors and residents and how the Event Center is planned to complement the new Soundside boardwalk that is being designed.
