Two women arrested on drugs, driving violations

On April 7, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Deputies working the A-District conducted a stop for a traffic violation near the 1900 block of Colington Road. During the stop, the Deputies checks showed that the passenger had outstanding warrants. An amount of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Karena Lashea Harris, 31, of Newport News, VA, was charged with (F) Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, (M) Possession of Marijuana, (M) Possessions of Drug and Marijuana Paraphernalia and (M) Driving while license revoked. Harris is still in custody on a $8,000 secured bond.

Kla Che Jordan, 38, Portsmouth, VA, was charged with (F) Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, (M) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and (M) FTA Warrants for Speeding and DWLR. Jordan is still in custody on a $7,000 secured bond.

    Any influx of people always brings the dregs of the earth. $8K bail for the drugs alone is laughable. Why even bother having laws…

    To NC law enforcement. Job well done 👍. Now the next step is to keep the VA scourge out of NC. Regardless of ethnicity or class, criminals are unwelcome here. I trust the wheels of justice will roll these two offenders appropriate punishment for their disobedience.
