Celebrate First Friday in Manteo with art, music, a book party and family-friendly fun

First Friday Music: Cole & MaryAnn’s Delta Blues in The Courtyard, Steve Hauser at Old Tom Street, Tim and Woody at Poor Richards, Toolan and Evans at NouVines and Jessica Diaz at Lost Colony Brewery.

Dare County Arts Council Gallery Opening:   Chip Freund’s Solo Exhibition: The Water’s Edge opens on Friday, May 6 at 6pm. Stop by the Vault Gallery and meet Chip Freund and see his amazing photography.

The Manteo Art Walk featuring celebrations, specials, music all over town, art, and more inside other Manteo galleries, shops and restaurants.

Downtown Books Book Party. Two highly anticipated books from local authors, Hannah Bunn West and Alicia Bessette. Both authors will be on hand signing and talking about their books, meeting friends and fans and celebrating their accomplishments with Downtown Books, 103 Sir Walter Raleigh St. in Manteo.

Please come by on May 6 between 6pm and 8pm and raise a glass to these two very special women!

  • Hannah Bunn West’s Remarkable Women of the Outer Banks from Arcadia Press looks at the women who have shaped Outer Banks history.
  • Alicia Bessette’s first book in her Outer Banks Bookshop mystery series, Smile Beach Murder, arrives May 10 BUT we’ve been given special permission by the publisher to sell copies at our big launch party!

First Friday is a fun-filled, family-oriented event held the first Friday of each month, April through November from 6pm to 8pm, in historic downtown Manteo.

The sidewalks pulse with live music, magic, artisans, and much more.
