It’s always an exciting time in the Town of Manteo, and the Fourth of July is no different! The streets downtown are full of children and their families, neighbors and visitors alike joining in the festivities celebrating Independence Day.
The fun begins at 3:00 PM downtown in front of the Dare County Arts Council building with the singing of the National Anthem and presentation of both the United States and North Carolina Flags. Kid’s games and activities, Independence Day trivia, decorated bike contest (trike, scooter, and wagons welcome too), apple pie contest, food, and summer treats are more than enough reason to come on out and spend time with family, friends, and neighbors. Enjoy summer skies and apple pies, decorated bikes and little tikes!
Join us for an Independence Day concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park at their scenic waterfront Pavilion! The concert is free and open to the public, and gates open at 4:30 p.m. The show kicks off at 5:15 p.m. with 80’s cover band, The Deloreans, presented by the Town of Manteo. Following The Deloreans, Roanoke Island Festival Park will host the 82nd Airborne Band & Chorus as they present a star-spangled salute to our country featuring patriotic music, beginning at 7:45 p.m. The concert will conclude with fireworks at dusk provided by the Town of Manteo, complete with lots of twinkle and sparkle illuminating the night sky with vibrant colors and explosive entertainment!
