Given storm fears, Dare Schools will shift to remote learning on Friday Sept. 30.

The Dare County Schools has sent out this Sept. 28 notice to school families, indicating that due to concerns about Hurricane Ian, Friday will be a remote learning day.

Here is the announcement.

District and local officials are monitoring the weather conditions related to Hurricane Ian. All schools will have a normal instructional day on Thursday, Sept. 29. However, due to the forecast of hazardous weather conditions, Dare County Schools will have a remote instructional day on Friday, Sept. 30.

Teachers will communicate remote instruction expectations with students by Friday. Students will have 5 days after returning to school to complete remote assignments. Students and staff will not report to school on Friday, Sept. 30.  Thank you for your understanding, and please be safe.
