Manteo, First Flight and Hatteras all advance in men’s soccer playoffs

The Manteo, First Flight and Cape Hatteras men’s soccer teams all won their first-round home games in the State Soccer Championship tournament on Oct. 31.

In the 2A soccer competition, No. 3 seed Manteo captured a 4-0 shoutout victory over No. 30 ranked East Bladen and will now move on to play No. 14 seed Wallace-Rose Hill in a second-round contest slated for Nov. 3.

No. 2 seed First Flight also racked up an Oct. 31 home victory in the 3A competition, defeating No. 31 seed North Brunswick by a score of 2-0. That team advances to play Durham School of the Arts in its second-round game on Nov. 3

And in the 1A bracket, No. 9 seed Cape Hatteras came away with a 3-2 victory on Oct. 31 against No. 24 Riverside-Martin at home. Cape Hatteras now continues on in the tournament to face No. 8 seed Perquimans in a second-round contest on Nov. 3.
