By on November 14, 2022

ELIZABETH (Beth) CLARKE JOHNSON KINDELBERGER died peacefully on November 6, 2022, from complications of lung cancer. She was surrounded by and held lovingly by her husband Walter, daughters Genevieve (Genna) and Madelyn (Aly), siblings Laurel, Christopher (Joe Sheehan) and parents Tom and Cathie Johnson. Beth will long be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, can-do attitude, enthusiasm for travel, lifelong reading and loving support for all those whose lives she touched. She particularly excelled at being a wonderful wife, mom, daughter and sister.

She graduated from Sewickley Academy in 1989, where she was President of her Class and Editor-in-Chief of the yearbook, from Dartmouth in 1993 where she was President of her Delta Gamma sorority and later earned a Master’s degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh. She and her family were long-time residents of Delmont, PA where Beth was the consummate volunteer, booster and activist. Three years ago, Beth and Walt purchased the busy Kitty Hawk, NC restaurant, The Rundown Café, where Beth was totally involved in daily operations. She made life better for all those whose lives she touched! Beth’s social media handle has always been “Bkindly” and her wish for all of us is to be kind to each other, all creatures and the planet. Beth and her family are particularly thankful for the excellent and sensitive care provided by her doctors, nurses and all those at Shadyside Hospital and Hillman Cancer Center.

There will be a memorial celebration of her life at Sewickley Presbyterian Church at a later date to be determined. Memorial donations in Beth’s memory may be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Research Center in support of lung cancer prevention and cure: HillmanResearch.UPMC.edu/Giving and/or to the Murrysville Community Library: https:/www.murrysvillelibrary.org. Beth’s family thanks you in advance. Arrangements entrusted to R. D. Copeland, Ltd., Irvine Chapel, Sewickley, PA.
