William James Crodick, III of Knotts Island, NC passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 11, 2022. He was 52 years old. Will was born on December 23, 1969 in Portsmouth, VA to William James Crodick, Jr and Patti Ann Crodick.
Will graduated from Churchland High School in Portsmouth, VA in 1988. He owned a peach orchard in Knotts Island as well as a grip and lighting company. He was heavily involved in advocating for the students of Currituck County. He served on the Board of Education in Currituck County from 2016-2020, and was just elected on November 8th, 2022 to serve another term. To say Will Crodick was one of a kind is an understatement. Outgoing, intelligent, passionate, and always good for a line to make us laugh, Will woke up every morning with boundless energy and drive to work for his family and his community. A hearty soul, strong and open, Will was the real deal. He made a new friend every day. He got to know people, and won them over with his no nonsense approach, folder of facts and passion to fix a problem. Will’s booming presence, his action, his energy, and his devotion to the people and causes he loved will be forever missed but remembered.
Will was predeceased by his mother, Patti Ann Crodick. He is survived by his wife, Emily and sons William and Andrew; father, William James Crodick, Jr; sister, Susan Coble (Shawn) of Mechanicsville, VA and their children Meghan, Allison, and Jack; brother, Jim Crodick of Richmond, VA; sister, Erin Kleindl (John) of Mechanicsville, VA and their children Brody, Heidi, and Piper.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Will on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 6:30pm at Currituck County High School, 4203 Caratoke Hwy, Barco, NC 27917.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Will’s children. To contribute, deposits can be made to the account named Crodick Children Memorial Fund at Atlantic Union Bank or via Venmo to @Crodick-Children-Memorial-Fund.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The scope of the project encompasses approximately 36,000 sqft of new construction and 18,000 sqft of demolition on a 3.5-acre site located at the 1630 N Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, NC. The project includes masonry bearing walls supporting a Standing Seam Metal Roof over Light Gauge Trusses housing administrative, living and support spaces along with 6 apparatus bays. Principal trade and specialty contractors are solicited for the following Bid Packages: BP750 – Turnkey Siding. Additional Packages may be added and/or deleted at the discretion of the Construction Manager. Historically underutilized business participation is encouraged.
