James S. Bailey of Barco, November 16

By on November 18, 2022

James Scott Bailey, age 70, of Barco, NC died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  Born in Chesterfield, VA on June 11, 1952 to the late James Richard Bailey and Theonia Wright, he was the widower of Mi Kyong Bailey.  After serving his country honorably in the U. S Marine Corps, he was founder/owner of the SADSAC Foundation.  He was a member of American Legion # 288 in Coinjock, NC.

He is survived by two sons, Richard Scott Bailey (Crystal and 4 Grand Children) of Houston, TX and James Arthur Bailey of Barco, NC. Sisters Sherri Fletcher, Donna Howdershelt, Catherine M. Bartly, Michelle Plamer, Amy Christine Munson, Jessica Beth Bosher and his brother Richard W. Bailey.

James Scott Bailey had an unwavering love of God and Country. He proudly served the country he loved as a United States Marine. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest. Later in life, he founded the SADSAC foundation as a way to continue serving his community by providing assistance to the voiceless, abused and unwanted. He found joy thru helping others and not monetary gain. Many times, he would help others in need even to his own detriment. In a cold selfish world, he was selfless and warm. He will be missed dearly by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Do not mourn his loss. Rather, celebrate his life as he would have wanted.

A service will be held at a later date.

Twiford Funeral Homes, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 is assisting the Bailey family.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.TwifordFH.com.
