On November 24, at 8:50 p.m., the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 1700 block of Sioux St. with fire showing from the roof area. Fire crews from Colington and Kitty Hawk Fire Departments responded to the incident. The Kill Devil Hills Police Department and Dare County EMS were on scene and assisted in the operation. The fire was extinguished and there is extensive damage to the structure. Everyone got out of the structure safe. There were no injuries, however, a couple of family pets perished in the fire.
The Kill Devil Hills Fire Marshal, John Risoldi Sr. is investigating to determine the fire origin and cause.
