Dare County Schools would like to share an incredible opportunity for students and staff. Civil rights activist and historical figure, Ruby Bridges, will be at the Island Bookstore in Corolla on Friday, Dec. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. to sign her latest book, I Am Ruby Bridges.
Bridges made history when she became one of the first African-American children to desegregate New Orleans’ public school system. Her latest illustrated book, I Am Ruby Bridges, recalls this historical event from the point of view of her six-year-old self.
All ages are welcome to attend the book signing hosted by Twiddy and Company. Guests are asked to please limit the number of books to be signed to one per individual. For more information about this upcoming event, visit WOBX.com.
