Top Manteo finishers in state track championships

BACK ROW: Elle Edwards, Mackenzie Flynn, Caroline Gay, Isaac Jarvis, and Madison Flynn FRONT ROW: Marla Woodson, Abbi Calvio, and Jordan Stokes.

A number of Manteo High School athletes had strong showings at the North Carolina High School State Indoor Track and Field Championships held on Feb. 10 and 11.

Carolina Gay finished fourth in the pole vault, while Isaac Jarvis was sixth in pole vault and Jordan Stokes logged an 11thĀ place finish. Madison Flynn captured eighth place in the 1,000 and ninth place in the 1,600 events.

The schoolā€™s 4×800 relay of Caroline Gay, Abbi Calvio, Madison Flynn and Mackenzie Flynn took fifth place while the 4×400 relay team of Caroline Gay, Marla Woodson, Madison Flynn, and Mackenzie Flynn finished eight with a new indoor school record.
