The Manteo womenā€™s basketball team defeated Hertford County 58-39 in the second round of the conference tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 15 and will next play Northeastern at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17.

The Manteo and First Flight menā€™s teams did not fare as well in the second round of the tournament. Hertford beat Manteo 67-41 on Feb. 15 while First Flight dropped a heartbreaking overtime contest to Northeastern by a 61-60 tally.

The first round of the NCHSAA State Basketball Championships will begin on Feb. 21.
