Officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), Pasquotank County Sheriffâs Office, Dare County Sheriffâs Office and Elizabeth City Police Department conducted an investigation resulting in the arrest of the Elizabeth City man for promoting prostitution.
The investigation revealed that John âGoodwrenchâ Reynolds, 62, was using his residence to promote prostitution. On March 9, officers executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Lane Street in Elizabeth City. During the search warrant, numerous items were seized as evidence. The evidence seized and collected were various electronic devices including laptops, chrome books and cellular phones.
Reynolds was arrested on six counts of Promoting Prostitution, a Class E Felony. Reynolds was confined in Albemarle District Jail under a $200,000 secured bond. As the investigation continues, anyone with any additional information pertaining to this case should contact Lieutenant William âBumperâ Williams, of the Pasquotank County Sheriffâs Office at 252-338-2191 (office) or 252-339-1926 (cell).
The case will be reviewed by the District Attorneyâs Office and the United States Attorneyâs Office where Reynolds is liable to face additional state and/or federal charges.

Agreed.. these âcustomersâ are just as guilty and they make it possible for scum like this to prey on our daughters and families. Theyâre just as guilty and if this guy is found guilty he should spend a LONG TIME behind bars. Make no mistake there ARE human traffickers in our midst OBX.. they ARE HERE you must stay vigilant please!! Also, if legally allowed you should train with and carry a legal firearm and be prepared to protect the weakest and most vulnerable among us..
