Manteo drops tight 4-2 contest to Holmes

In a tight game played on March 14, Edenton Holmes notched a 4-2 win over Manteo High School in the home conference opener for Manteo. The loss brought Manteo’s overall record to 3-2 and 0-1 in conference play.

Senior Riley Perciful and sophomore Taylor Granitzki each drove in a run for Manteo.  Sophomore Landon Sawyer started on the mound for Manteo and went 3.2 innings giving up two runs and striking out five hitters. Senior Cal Dixon followed with two innings, giving up two runs while striking out three hitters. Junior Wyn Wheeler finished the game with 1.1 innings while striking out two Edenton hitters.

Patrick Sinclair is the minister at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in Manns Harbor.
