Rivals First Flight and Manteo faced off in a baseball/softball doubleheader on March 24 on First Flight’s Kill Devil Hills home fields.

The First Flight varsity baseball team won the game against Manteo by a score of 5-1. Both teams scored a run during in the first inning, but First Flight put the game away with two-run rallies in the third and sixth innings. Starter Jordan Kempton went the distance to get the win while striking out 8 batters. First Flight managed to score its 5 runs on 5 hits.

The results were reversed in softball, as the Manteo varsity women defeated First Flight 7-2, scoring the last 7 runs in the game. Emily Williams pitched a complete game for the win, yielding no earned runs. Brooklyn Creef led a balanced 9-hit attack with 2 hits.
