The First Flight women’s lacrosse team advanced to the third round of the NC State Championship tournament in the 1A/2A/3A bracket with a 17-5 win over Jacksonville Northside on May 4. (The fifth-seeded First Flight team had a first-round bye.) First Flight also celebrated Senior Night for both boys and girls teams at half-time.

The team will continue its playoff quest with a May 9 game against No. 4 seed Union Pines.
