HIGH rip current risk at all area beaches today including Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Pea Island, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras Village and Ocracoke. Ocean swimming is not recommended. Obey RED FLAGS and stay out of the water!
Strongest rip currents often occur a couple hours either side of low tide, which is around 9:30 am today.
Expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures in the mid 70s with a southeast wind around 5 to 10 mph. Water temperatures: Duck Pier…64. Jennettes Pier…61. Oregon Inlet Marina…63. Avon Pier…67.
