Dare County offices will be closed on Monday, September 4, 2023, in observance of Labor Day. This includes the Manteo Recycle Yard, the Dare County C&D Landfill and the Buxton Transfer Station.
All Dare County offices and facilities will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Dare County Public Works, which provides trash collection for the unincorporated areas of Dare County as well as the Town of Kitty Hawk, has announced that trash collection will operate on its normal schedule on Monday, September 4, 2023.
The Town of Kitty Hawk’s Saturday residential summer trash collection for the east side (ocean side) of the bypass will continue through Labor Day weekend and then conclude on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
REMINDER: The Dare County Public Works Department only provides trash collection for the Town of Kitty Hawk and the unincorporated areas of Dare County. Unincorporated Dare County does not include areas within a town’s limits.

Barnhill Contracting Company will receive, open, and read publicly all bids received in person in the Training & GPS Technology Room at the main office and listed with the virtual viewing at the link to be posted on Barnhill’s Plan Room.
Bids will not be accepted from bidders that are not pre-qualified. No facsimile or email submissions are permitted.
