Manteo and Hatteras Volleyball clash in early season match

The Manteo Volleyball teams hosted Cape Hatteras Tuesday night, August 29.  Manteo coaches include Heather Sulkowski, Kristen Dalton, and Stu Serine.  While former 2015 Manteo graduate and standout Brittany Barnett heads the Cape Hatteras squads with help of assistant Randy Ratliff.

The Manteo JV team defeated Cape Hatteras by a final of 2 matches to 0.  Manteo’s Jada Flowers (#2) led the home team in both aces and kills.  Sophomore Mackenzy O’Neal (#8) kept Cape Hatteras in it with her offensive and defensive net play.

The Cape Hatteras Varsity group fell to Manteo by a final of 3 matches to 0.  Anchored by junior Kelley Cook (#11), Manteo rotated lineups all night in search of chemistry.  Hatteras libero Haven Schwartz (#1) guided her team with quality digs of opposing serves. Long rallies and exciting exchanges made for a fun and competitive night.
