The family of Marianne L. Chessick is deeply saddened to announce her passing September 7, 2023 in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Born in Essex County New Jersey March 28, 1944, Marianne was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Genevieve Zabludowski.
Marianne and husband, Eddie have resided happily in Manteo for decades. Marianne was a devoted Catholic wife and mother who ran a meticulous and welcoming home. For years, she was an active and joyful servant of God through several ministries in Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and beyond. In addition to her family and church, Marianne enjoyed serving patients as a popular medical receptionist with several local medical practices- including Dr. Johhny Farrow’s clinic in Manteo.
Marianne was funny, kind, honest, generous, and incredibly strong. She was one of several local long-term cancer patients who formed a close family of their own as they used humor and grit to endure several years of complex medical treatments.
In addition to her husband Edward L. “Eddie” Chessick of the Manteo home, Marianne is survived by their son Brian; two grandchildren, Connor and Brianna; one sister, Teresa “Teri” Anderson of Califon, New Jersey; her niece and nephew, Erin and Erik; great-nieces and great-nephews, Katelin, Megan, Declan, and Robbie; and numerous extended family members, her “circle of survivors” family, and countless neighbors and friends.
Eddie is honoring Marianne’s directives for cremation. As she requested; Marianne’s memorial mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nags Head Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11 am. Her remains will be laid to rest in the Town of Manteo that she loved and called home. Eddie would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and the medical staff that assisted Marianne throughout the past few years. Please share a word of love and grace with Eddie and the Chessick family at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.

So sorry to hear of Marianne’s passing. We worked together at the medical center for many years. I have so many fond memories of her. She always had such a wonderful personality and keep me laughing. Later we would run into each other and catch up on family and life. At Christmas she made all these wonderful cookies she would bring to work. Cherish the beautiful memories your family shared together.
