Edward Louis Rudzinski, Jr., of Corolla, NC, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, at the age of 75. He was born on May 10, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to the late Florence Konkowski and Edward Louis Rudzinski, Sr.
Edward, most commonly known as Ed, had a fulfilling and diverse career, beginning with his honorable service in the United States Army Reserves. Ed went on to work for Marriott Hotels, where he worked for 48 years, working most recently as a general manager at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. His professionalism and leadership skills were greatly admired by his colleagues and enhanced the success of the hotels he managed.
Ed’s greatest joy in life came from his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Cheryl Rudzinski, his three sons and their wives, Todd and Dorota, Ryan and Erin, and Kevin and Erin Rudzinski, and his seven grandchildren, Matthew, Olivia, Cameron, Lucas, Zoe, Greyson and Verity Rudzinski. Ed’s sisters, Sharon Mooney and Diane Straza, and their spouses and loving children, were also a cherished part of his life.
A Memorial Mass will be held on November 18, 2023 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 7321 Burkittsville Road, Middletown, Maryland. Following mass, there will be a Celebration of Life held from 11:30 – 2:00pm at Ceresville Mansion, located at 8529 Liberty Road, Frederick, Maryland 21701. The Celebration of Life will bring together family and friends, offering an opportunity to remember Ed’s life and the impact he made on those around him. There will be an allotted time for those that would like to say a few words or share stories.
Edward Louis Rudzinski, Jr. will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love and dedication lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
