Are you a local history buff? Are you a descendant of a US Lifesaving Service or early Coast Guard member? Are you new to the area and simply want to get involved in the community? Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station has something for you.
Chicamacomico is spearheading the 2024 celebration of 150 years of professional lifesaving on the Outer Banks and in North Carolina. We have already garnered participation and support from NPS and Black Pelican to highlight the 3 remaining stations.
We are seeking grassroots involvement to present the histories of the other stations, as well as to support a year- long series of events and presentations honoring this amazing legacy. This year-long celebration will culminate in a series of honorary events in October 2024.
On Friday, November 24, 2023 Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station will host our annual Thanksgiving/ Christmas event and visit by Santa. That same day, Chicamacomico Board of Director members, staff and volunteers will be on site to answer questions and glean information from you, the general public to see in what capacity you can help us present this important history.

This is a request for one year of involvement. If you wish to continue after that, great. We can assure you there is always plenty to do, but no obligation is attached to your willingness to support this event.

- Chicamacomico, a non-profit historical and living history site and museum.
- Little Kinnakeet, an NPS holding,
- and Kitty Hawk, now the Black Pelican Restaurant.

Barnhill Contracting Company will receive, open, and read publicly all bids received in person in the Training & GPS Technology Room at the main office and listed with the virtual viewing at the link to be posted on Barnhill’s Plan Room.
Bids will not be accepted from bidders that are not pre-qualified. No facsimile or email submissions are permitted. Sealed bids are to be hand delivered to the bid opening location noted above or mailed Sealed Bids can be delivered before 9:00am the day of the bid to the Barnhill Contracting Company Office at 800 Tiffany Blvd., Suite 200 Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
