The Dare County League of Women Voters, is inviting its members and the general public to its Fall program “Running For Office 101” to be held at the Baum Center November 27, 2023 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
This free and informative program is designed to promote interest in seeking public office by bringing together five local residents who will share their campaign experiences and challenges in a panel dialogue format. “If you ever considered running for office or working on a campaign for a candidate this event will prove to be eye-opening and educational for one and all,” said Dare League programs director, Courtney Gallop.
The non-partisan and balanced event will feature local panelists John Towler, Beverly Boswell, Monica Thibodeau, Cheryl House, and Jessical Fearns. The panelists will briefly share what inspired them to undertake their campaigns and then field questions from the audience dealing with finance, organization, laws and rules, and other issues candidates must navigate while campaigning. The panel will also reflect on special issues women face in running for office.
