Patricia Jean “Pattie” Oglesby, born August 31, 1953, passed Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Oglesby, mother, Elizabeth Justice, father, Roscoe Justice Jr., nephew, Bert Bowman, and niece, Lisa Justice. She is survived by her brothers, Roscoe (Ginger) Justice and Jack (Sharon) Justice; sister, Judy Bowman; great-nieces in which she helped raise Jenna (Alex) Garcia and Megan (Hervin) Sanchez, as well as countless other nieces, nephews, and other family and friends that she loved deeply.

Pattie spent her life devoted to her family and helped nurture the strong bond that will continue. Pattie loved her family and friends with conviction and passion. She was kind and gentle and helped hold people together in tough times. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Professionally, Pattie was a talented florist who ran and operated her own floral shop for years. Most recently, she retired after 25+ years of service in the souvenir dept at Cahoon’s Market.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Saturday, November 11, 2023. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Barnhill Building Group has been selected as the Construction Manager @ Risk by the College of the Albemarle and is seeking to pre-qualify construction trade contractors to submit bids for the furnishing labor, materials, equipment, and tools for the new College of The Albemarle – Allied Health Sciences Simulation Lab (COA Health Sciences) located in Elizabeth City, NC. Please note: Only subcontractors who have been prequalified by Barnhill will be able to submit a Bid.

The project consists of the new construction of a 38,000-sf, 2-story expansion to the existing Owens Health Sciences Center and will house classrooms, labs, and a simulation lab. The site is just over just over 4.5 acres and is located on an active campus. This new construction will be a steel structure with a brick and metal panel veneer, curtainwall, and storefront glazing with a PVC roof membrane.
