Step into a world where history comes alive and holiday magic takes center stage. The Manteo Preservation Trust Holiday Tour of Homes is an enchanting journey through the heart of Manteo, North Carolina, where charming historic and new homes, festively adorned for the season, open their doors to visitors. This annual event, organized by the Manteo Preservation Trust, offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich heritage and warm holiday spirit that define this coastal gem. The tour includes 11 stops.
108 Budleigh is the first stop on the tour. Stop in to pick up your brochure which is your ticket for the tour and visit with College of the Albemarle artisans.
Since our inception in October of 1999 – almost 25 years ago! – Manteo Preservation Trust has worked diligently to help our community understand and celebrate the town’s history, architectural legacy and culture. We share the sentiment of what Manteo means to all of us, and, like you, we want to help preserve and protect what we have here.
We know, through your past support, that Manteo’s preservation means a lot to you. With your help we’ve identified and placed plaques on more than 125 homes in town that have historic significance, made possible the replacing of the long-missing cupola and bell on our historic 1904 courthouse and assisted with other smaller projects that promote and preserve our sense of place here on Roanoke Island.
There aren’t too many towns left with the intact charm and history of ours, and that’s because we all care enough to protect the way of life we have in this lovely little island town. Can we count on you for a contribution this year?
This year, MPT will be sponsoring our 16th Holiday Tour of Homes, opening 11 historic homes and structures for the public to enjoy and to further understand the beauty of preservation. We hope you’ll join us! And, remember that your timely contribution will pay you back before the end of the year! Your contribution of $50 will earn you one ticket to the tour, and a $100 donation will give you two. And you’re welcome to just bring your contribution the day of the tour rather than having to mail it in. We begin at 108 Budleigh this year, with tickets on sale beginning at 10 a.m. The tour will run from 1 to 6 p.m.
We are so happy to have friends and neighbors like you who deeply care about our special town and join with us in helping to preserve our cultural, architectural and historic significance.
