Latest Dare County information about storm conditions

Dare County Emergency Management Director Drew Pearson issued this “last bulletin” about area storm conditions shortly before 5 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 12.

Here is the update.

A powerful storm system will continue to bring rainfall across the area through tonight, with strong winds arriving early tomorrow morning and continuing through tomorrow afternoon.

Impacts include minor to moderate coastal flooding and widespread strong winds Tuesday, and a few strong storms bringing a low risk for damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes late tonight.

What Has Changed

– Wind Advisory issued for all of eastern North Carolina.

– High Surf Advisory for beaches from Beaufort Inlet to Cape Hatteras.

Unchanged Hazards

– Coastal Flood Warning for the northern Outer Banks, Cape Hatteras, and Roanoke Island.

– Gale Warning for all area waterways.
