Optimist Club for the Outer Banks

By on February 12, 2024

Please come to an informational and planning meeting concerning the organization of an Optimist Club on the North Carolina Outer Banks. We will be meeting on Sunday afternoon, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM, in the Youth Center Multipurpose Room 1 at the Family Recreation Park, 602 Mustian Street, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948

Optimist International is an association of more than 2,500 Optimist Clubs around the world, dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Youth, Our Communities, and Ourselves.” Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be.

Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists conduct scholarship programs, sports activities, mentoring programs, after-school programs, and childhood cancer initiatives.

Your input and enthusiastic support are needed. Please come with your ideas about how we can be effective as Optimists on the Outer Banks. Feel free to bring friends who share an interest in youth. If you have questions prior to this event, please call or text Linda Shepherd at 252 567 5673. We look forward to seeing you!
