KDH mourns the loss of Tommy Lee

On Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Town of Kill Devil Hills posted this message announcing the death of Assistant Fire Chief Tommy Lee on its Facebook page.

The Kill Devil Hills community has experienced a tremendous loss. Assistant Fire Chief Tommy Lee, who dedicated over 50 years of his life to serving others, will always be remembered as a selfless and dedicated hero, mentor, and friend.

Please keep the KDH fire family, and the family and friends of Tommy Lee in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

It is with insurmountable sorrow to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Assistant Fire Chief Tommy Lee today. Tommy Lee has been an integral contributor and part of our department family and the Kill Devil Hills community for over 50 years. The lives he has influenced and saved all these years speaks to the legacy he leaves. We all are better for knowing and working with him. Rest easy Chief, we’ll take it from here.
