Christy Lynn Stallings, February 25

By on March 1, 2024

Christy Lynn Stallings, a beloved mother, daughter, and friend, passed away suddenly on February 25, 2024 in Chesapeake, Virginia. Residing in Powell Point, NC for 29 years-she was born on February 11, 1969 in Durham, North Carolina to William and Gail Stallings. She and her sister, Ashley Stallings grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.

Christy’s passing has left an indelible void in the lives of those who knew her best. Her daughters Kaleigh (Brian), Chelsey, Taylor and son, Nicholas were not only her pride and joy but also the center of her heart. She was a doting grandmother to Bentley, Avianna, Zy’liyah, Zakai, and Presley. Christy was predeceased by two grandchildren Zaiden- her very first grandbaby, and Kinsley.

Christy was employed at Coinjock Marina for close to 20 years. Over the years, her co-workers became great friends, sisters, and brothers and due to her wisdom- many even regarded her as a mother figure. Christy was a kind, selfless soul, who provided comfort and solace while asking little in return.  She loved music, football, and NASCAR, but family was her sole focus. She cared for them and worried over them until the end; sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs.

Christy was a free spirit, who believed in flexibility, ‘modifications,’ and change. She also valued loyalty, honesty, and authenticity. Struggling with the concept of tough love Christy was fiercely independent and private. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks and disfunction. She rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.  Christy will be desperately missed by all those that she’s left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

The memorial service will be held at Jarvisburg Church of Christ Saturday March 9, 2024 at 11 am. Expressions of sympathy and support may be shared at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
