The First Flight women’s team concluded their regular season with an outstanding 14-1 record, dominating their conference with a 10-0 mark. Their performance earned them the No. 2 seed on the eastern side of the 1A-3A State Playoffs. After commanding a first-round bye, they continued their momentum with a 16-1 victory against Terry Sanford on May 7. However, their playoff run ended on May 11, when they faced off against Croatan, falling short with a final score of 13-8 at home. Despite the loss, the women’s team performed exceptionally all season.

Similarly, the First Flight men’s team enjoyed a successful season, finishing with a strong 14-4 record and claiming the top spot in their conference. Securing a first-round bye, they entered the 1A-3A State tournament as the No. 3 seed on the eastern side. Their latest victory came against J.H. Rose by a score of 13-4 on May 7, completing a 3-0 sweep over them this season. However, their playoff journey also ended on May 11, as they faced Croatan on the road and fell short, with a final score of 15-7. Despite the defeat, the men’s team made a strong effort throughout the season.
