Stephen Hall Sykes

Stephen Hall Sykes, 73, of Littleton, North Carolina, left this life on June 1, 2024.  Steve was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He was a general contractor and avid musician playing the drums and guitar in multiple bands, including the original Counter Clockwise Band.

Lovingly known as “Buzz Saw”, Steve was beloved by all, always bringing a smile and a laugh. He was happiest spending time with family and friends, drinking an ice-cold salted Budweiser, listening to music and fishing. Steve was larger than life and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Steve was preceded in death by his beloved son, Stephen “Hall” Sykes, Jr. and his parents Milton and Jeanne Sykes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Sykes; daughters, Mimi Sykes Hopkins (John), Jessica Williams and Linda Williams; grandchildren, Vivian and Virginia Hopkins, Hailey Triplett and Myles “Ryder” Adams; brother, Milton Sykes (Rose); sisters, Diane Hall (Jimmy) and Barbara Lifsey (John).  Stephen is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who he cherished dearly. Always by his side was his sweet, devoted Labrador Lily.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15th at the Moose Lodge 7212 Boydton Plank Rd. Petersburg, VA 23803 from 2pm-5pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Scruggs Fire and Rescue, Franklin County Public Safety, or a local animal rescue of your choice.
