The Dare County Sheriff’s Office is looking for assistance to help establish a MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) program in Dare County. Sheriff J.D. ‘Doug’ Doughtie is supportive of this opportunity and what it could provide to the community as well as could help law enforcement with DWI cases in court long term.

With the help of Patrol Sergeant Harris and Captain Scarborough, we have secured Dare EOC conference room at Dare Central,  370 Airport Rd in Manteo on June 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. to meet with MADD Court Monitoring Specialist Emily Ferraro and the State Affiliate Executive Director Jennifer Lichtneger.

For more information, please call Patrol Sergeant Harris’ work cell too if you have questions or would like to volunteer and can’t make the meeting, 252-305-5800.

Anyone who is interested in helping, or has a significant other / spouses, friends, family, who would like to volunteer some time and better the community, please let them know the date of the meeting to attend.
