The North Carolina All-State Football Game is a three-day event celebrating the top athletes in the state while providing elite training and play opportunities. Athletes are nominated by their coaches, and since 2004, the All-State Game has recognized and rewarded young athletes for their preparation, skill, and sportsmanship.

The event also supports underprivileged youth by collecting gift cards, school supplies, and backpacks. This year’s event was held at Guilford College in Greensboro from June 28-30.

One of the selected athletes is Jerry Frazier from the Manteo Braves Middle School team. Jerry was thrilled when he learned of his selection, viewing it as an opportunity to showcase his talents in a sport he loves.

“I was super excited and hyped when my coach told me,” he said. “This opportunity means that I can show my talents in doing something that I love to do and comes naturally to me.”

Jerry credits his success to the support of his faith and family, including his brother, Poppy, his mom, and Nan. “God is my biggest supporter. I couldn’t do this without Him.’ Also, my brother and Poppy help with practicing and giving me tips to get better, and my mom and Nan get me to and from games and practices.”

Jerry believes this experience will enhance his skills and increase his visibility to college coaches, allowing him to connect with other talented athletes. He is eager to get on the field and compete at the All-State Game.  Jerry stated, “My selection is a testament to the caliber of football talent nurtured here in Manteo”
