One of the East Coast’s most unique and entertaining festivals is ready for takeoff! OBX Brewtag 2025 returns this Saturday, October 25 from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head. Admission is free and everyone is invited to join the fun.

Part flying competition, part beer festival, and part family carnival, OBX Brewtag is a celebration of flight, creativity, and community. The centerpiece of the day: brave teams launching homemade flying machines—built around empty 1/6 barrel kegs—off a 20-foot-high platform in a hilarious competition of distance, design, and flair.

What to Expect at OBX Brewtag 2025:

  • The Keg Flight Competition – Cheer on teams as they send their keg-inspired aircraft soaring (or crashing!) into the sky.
  • Beer Garden – Sample craft beer, cider, wine, and seltzers from 15+ vendors with a souvenir cup and punch card (ID required).
  • Live Music – Local and regional bands set the soundtrack for a high-energy, festival atmosphere.
  • Food Trucks & Local Flavor – Enjoy Outer Banks favorites from multiple food vendors.
  • Kids Zone – Bubbles, Games, Boo-Tag and hands-on fun for the whole family.

Brewtag is more than just fun—it’s flight for a cause. Proceeds benefit the Rogallo Foundation, supporting its mission to honor the legacy of Francis and Gertrude Rogallo, inventors of the flexible wing, and to build a future aviation museum and Hall of Fame right here on the Outer Banks.
