OBX 15U baseball All-Stars head to state tourney

OBX Baseball League 15U All Stars won the Tar Heel League District 7 All Stars Tournament in Elizabeth City for the second year in a row and advance to the Tar Heel League State Tournament to be held July 23-26 in Williamston. This local team includes players from Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Manteo, Hatteras and Ocracoke and is one of eight teams in North Carolina to advance to the state tournament.

Players are Ryder Bennett, Barrett Eilert, Gavin Gillespie, Gunner Johnson, Dylan McAvoy, Ducan McClain, David Newell, Luke Newell, Tucker Salyers, Sawyer Shelton, Silas Shelton, Elijah Stowe and Mason Tillett.

The team’s head coach is Zane Gillespie and assistant coaches are Brandon Powell and Travis Salyers.
