Currituck County woman wins $390,843 Digital Instant jackpot

Elizabeth Pettigrew beats odds of 1 in 13,300,000

Elizabeth Pettigrew of Shawboro took a chance on the Banker’s Vault Digital Instant game on Wednesday and won a $390,843 jackpot.

Pettigrew won the jackpot on a $3 play. The odds of that happening are 1 in 13.3 million.

She came to the lottery headquarters on Thursday to claim her prize. After state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $281,447.

Banker’s Vault is a progressive jackpot game, which currently sits at over $88,000.

    And now that it’s public knowledge, all of her long-lost relatives, friends she hasn’t spoken with in years, and strangers will be contacting her for help with this, that, and the other.
    Personally, I’d keep it a secret if it happened to me, if possible. If not, I’d disappear for a year or two.
