Colington United Methodist Church announces Change in Yard Sale schedule

Fall 2026 yard sale will not be held as CUMC transitions to one annual spring event.

Colington United Methodist Church has announced that its annual yard sale schedule is transitioning from two events each year to one community yard sale held each spring.  As part of this change, the Church will not hold a fall yard sale in 2026.   Donations of items will not be accepted this fall.   The transition will allow the Church to focus on other fundraising efforts.   Colington United Methodist Church will continue to host its community yard sale each spring and looks forward to welcoming donations of household goods, linens, and other items from supporters throughout the community.

The yard sale is a vital part of the fundraising efforts of the Church’s United Women in Faith group.  Funds raised from the yard sales help support charitable work in the Dare community, including the after-school tutoring at First Flight Elementary School and Student of the Month programs, Fellowship of Christian Athletes at First Flight Middle and High Schools, Hotline, Beach Food Pantry.

“We are grateful for the generous support our community has shown over the years,”  said Lettie Baxter CUMC yard sale coordinator.  “We look forward to continuing this important tradition each spring and implementing new methods to accommodate donations of items.   The funds we raise are used for ministries and organizations that serve our neighbors and their families.”
