Chesapeake man charged with drug trafficking and stolen firearm, issued $350K bond

On August 26, Currituck County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputies located a concealed firearm. A records check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen.

During a subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle, Deputies located approximately 205 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a second concealed firearm, and several digital scales containing suspected drug residue.

The driver, identified as Jeremy Miller, 31, of Chesapeake, Virginia, was arrested and transported to the magistrate’s office.

Miller was charged with:

• Two counts of Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine
• Felony Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for the Keeping or Selling of Controlled Substances
• Possession of a Stolen Firearm
• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance
• Two counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon
• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Unsafe Movement

Miller was issued a $350,000 secured bond and is being held at the detention center. The vehicle was impounded.
