On September 29, 2026, Helen Carol Anderson, 75, of Buxton, left her earthly body and joined her beloved husband Dickie in eternal love. Carol will be forever loved by her beautiful daughters, Robin and Rosia; her wonderful son-in-law, Aron; her one and only Elle Mae; and her sweet sweet Evie Fae.

Carol touched many lives and loved deeply and to the fullest. She would be the first to stand up for you, the first one to applaud you, and the one who would never give up on you even if it seemed the rest of the world had. She devoted her life to her family, where she brought so much love and magic to their worlds. She was so incredibly proud of her grand babies and was the best Gigi one could ask for. Her fierce love of mother earth and nature led her to form and spearhead, with the help of many others, Friends of Hatteras Island. They went on to save the Buxton Woods, and she was personally awarded the Eure Gardner award for Friends of Hatteras Island.  She was proud of her island and her heritage, proud to be the daughter of Hugh Williams, and proud to have lived her life and raised her children in the Williams Family Home in Buxton.

In her heart of hearts, she was a humanitarian, activist, environmental steward, a force to be reckoned with, and above all else, pure love, light, and joy.  She was so much more than one can sum up in a few short paragraphs, and she will be greatly missed.

Carol was born on October 10th, so please join us for one last birthday celebration on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 2:00pm at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 48060 NC 12, Buxton, NC, 27920. Following the celebration, join us after for Carol’s favorite, birthday cake, and more, at the Anderson’s house.
