Landscape Laborer

The Landscape Laborer is responsible for working as a team member under the direct supervision of the Landscape Foreman. Responsible for completing landscape installation jobs throughout the Outer Banks in an efficient manner, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship‪.

Essential Duties

  • Work closely with Foreman and Crew Leader in installation of landscape projects.
  • Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site, and assist Foreman and Crew Leader in keeping an orderly and stocked truck.
  • Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles.
  • Perform highly physical installation work on consistency basis.
  • Work as part of a team and take direction.
  • Understand and meet production and project schedule deadlines without sacrificing great customer service and excellent quality.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by Foreman and or Crew Leader.

Requirements

  • 1 years minimum residential and commercial landscape experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in installing a variety of hardscape applications.
  • Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, grasses and trees.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and detailed oriented.
  • Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours, weekends and although rare, potential holidays.
  • Punctual and dependable with a con-do attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels.

This position does not have supervisory duties‪.

Grounds/Maintenance Technician

Legacy Home Services, a subsidiary of SAGA Realty and Construction, is looking to hire a Grounds / Maintenance Technician for multi-family luxury apartment complex in Kill Devil Hills.

Previous experience in apartment maintenance, construction, and residential remodeling/repair experience is a plus but not necessary. We are willing to train the right person with a great attitude and willingness to learn.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing vacant apartments for move-in ready status via turn-over repairs and improvements
  • Perform painting, caulking and drywall repairs
  • Install ceiling fans, light switches/electrical outlets
  • Complete minor plumbing repairs and installations
  • Vacuum and mop common area floors
  • Clean common area bathrooms
  • Landscaping duties to include mowing grass, edging, trimming shrubs, and mulching
  • Work with maintenance staff to maintain grounds and common areas including picking up trash
  • Vacuum community pool
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and complete work orders as needed
  • Share “on call” duties with Maintenance Supervisor and be willing to perform maintenance tasks during off-hours when needed
  • Assist Property Manager with the set up or break down of events
  • Maintain material and supply inventory

To qualify, you will have the following:

  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work some weekends
  • The ability to provide residents with outstanding customer service
  • Strong time management skills and ability to listen to direction, multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently without supervision
  • Able to bend, stoop, reach and safely lift 60-100 pounds, unassisted.
