Fire engulfs three-story house in Southern Shores Friday

An early-morning fire gutted a three-story house in Southern Shores Friday.

Crews found the house engulfed in flames after they were called at 4:29 a.m. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes, according to the Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department.

Helping the Southern Shores department were crews from Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Colington and Nags Head.

No injuries were reported.
